Mynwood Cat Jackets

This spring, I made the decision that my kitties should be able to go out an enjoy the garden.

They have always been strictly indoor/housecats so I needed harnesses to keep them secure but comfortable. I wanted the harnesses to be escape proof as our cats are easily spooked at the wind and sudden noise.

I tried 4 different harnesses from Pets@Home with zero success. Problems encountered included: hard to get over the head, too tight or too loose, velcro not long enough, uncomfortable fit at the back of the shoulder, not escape-proof. They were all basically a waste of money and promptly returned to the store!

I begun a search online and found

a small business run by a lovely helpful lady called Maria. She makes the best fitting walking jackets for cats and kittens.

Here is Charlie wearing desert camouflage. He was easily spooked by the wind and traffic noise. He was was terrified to go out at first but after just two days, he loves his little outings.


He recognises the sound of the velcro straps and even sits crying at the back door for me to take him out.

He loves having his picture taken, he's such a poser.

 Willa, Charlies little sister is wearing her gorgeous bright pink flowers on royal blue.

She is so tiny that all the Pets@Home harnesses I tried were way too big for her.

The Mynwood jackets are made with extra long velcro allowing for weight gain/loss. I am able to make the harness fit snugly but comfortably.

Willa loves the new world outside but

 she still loves to be carried and cuddled most of all.

Maria will make the jackets to suit your requirements, for example if you need extra thin straps or longer chest straps because your cat is larger round the middle.

 Bindi is a rescue cat and dislikes restriction or doing anything that she doesn't want to do.

She is still adjusting to wearing her jacket. She has stopped the struggling when putting the jacket on but is still learning to walk in it.
I think it will probably take longer for her to get used to the jacket and going outdoors but I am sure she will enjoy the rewards in the end.
